About Breathe

London. 2009, mid-October. Summer gives way to autumn and the city swarms with people sucking in the stale air. Cars sit and choke at traffic lights. Trains cough out passengers. Evenings draw in like shadows over lungs. Clubs and bars pump out their music in dying gasps.

And there is news of a mysterious death…

Expanding Universe Presents…
A series of three short films made up of scripted narrative, live events and audience online interaction.

“People participate in the experience, and try to solve a series of mysteries. Some of the players will interact with the story and meet characters within the context of the narrative. Some could find themselves becoming characters in the films, as well as possible accomplices in a plot or two.” Yomi Ayeni, creator of Breathe

Breathe is a continuing saga, the story starts in London, and spreads to Paris, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Sydney, and Berlin.

The project will work with local production crews, new and emerging local talent, artists, fashion designers, and musicians to deliver a localised experience, each comprising of film, live events, online interactions, adventure and much more.

Expanding Universe launched Breathe in conjunction with Power to the Pixel’s Cross-Media Film Forum at the Times BFI 53rd London Film Festival on the 14th of October.

A free private screening was held in the Debating Chamber, London County Hall on the 14th.
